What is GDPR?

Karmabunny has been building websites of all shapes and sizes for 17 years now and we can't remember a more significant set of legislation in all that time for website owners.

The GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) is a set of laws introduced by the European Union centred on the export of any personal data outside of the EU.

It essentially forces website owners to confirm to a whole set of quite arduous rules about publishing data transparency and includes having to include tools on your website to allow your users to manage how their data is used and make requests to view their personal data.

You may be thinking "Well I don't care about EU citizens so it won't affect me.."

But the thing is, if they can get to your website and you are not compliant, you may be subject to fines of up to 4% of your revenue and/or €20 million!
On May 25, 2018 this becomes a reality.
